Introduction to Disc Centrifuge
Disc centrifuges are high-speed centrifuges designed for the mechanical separation and clarification of mixtures containing both solids and liquids. They are widely used across various industries due to their exceptional performance and versatility.
Thanks to their specialized design, disc centrifuges operate at much higher rotational speeds than other types of centrifuges, such as decanters. This results in a significantly greater centrifugal acceleration (g-force), enabling superior separation efficiency.
In addition, the stack of conical discs inside the bowl provides a large clarification surface area, allowing for the effective separation of ultra-fine solid particles from liquids, as well as the efficient separation of liquid–liquid mixtures.


Disc Centrifuge improves your production efficiency
The power drive system adopts a friction clutch and fluid coupling transmission, ensuring smooth and reliable startup while effectively preventing overload. The centrifuge is equipped with high-precision SKF bearings (Sweden), guaranteeing exceptional operational accuracy and long service life.
The disc centrifuge features a PLC-based automatic control system that enables fully automated de-sludging and offers high adaptability across various operating conditions. Its high degree of automation allows for easy adjustment and reduces operator workload. The machine performs efficiently even when processing mixtures with a wide range of solid concentrations, ensuring stable and reliable separation performance.
Strict Quality Supervision System for Disc Centrifuge
The mixture fluid to be processed is fed into the bowl through the feed pipe. Under the action of centrifugal force, the heavier solid particles—including impurities and sludge—are driven outward and collected along the bowl wall in the sediment holding space. After a set period, the accumulated solids are automatically discharged (de-sludged) from the bowl under PLC control.
The de-sludging interval depends on the quality and solid content of the feed material. The system supports automatic, partial, and total de-sludging modes. In most cases, total de-sludging is not required; partial de-sludging can be initiated when automatic de-sludging performance declines. The interval between two partial de-sludging cycles can be as short as two minutes, while maintaining normal electrical current and stable operation. Once conditions normalize, the system automatically resets the de-sludging interval.
The lighter phase (lower-density liquid) flows along the inner surfaces of the discs to the upper distributor channels, from which it is discharged by a built-in centripetal pump.
With its self-de-sludging system and centripetal pump discharge design, the disc centrifuge can operate continuously for extended periods, ensuring efficient and stable separation performance over the long term.
